Pathward

MetaBank Crestmark AFS/IBEX

We’re changing our name to affirm our

commitment to financial inclusion.

MetaBank was founded on the principle that everyone deserves access to the financial system. We’ve built our company on financial inclusion that puts people and communities first. We’ve evolved and expanded our services over the years, but those principles remain unchanged.

Over the past year, we’ve taken stock of where we’ve been and where we want to go. We’ve considered the ways we’ve transformed our business and culture to provide financial inclusion for allTM.

And we’ve chosen a name that represents our commitment to economic mobility.

Where we build bridges between tech innovation and finance.

Where we provide game-changing financial products that bank the underbanked and serve the underserved. Where we cultivate innovation and partnerships to support sustainable economies.

We are Pathward.

On July 13, 2022, we reached the next milestone in our brand transition and legally changed our name to PathwardTM, N.A., and Meta Financial Group, Inc.TM legally changed its name to Pathward Financial, Inc. Initially, the most notable change will be with contracts. Beginning July 13, 2022, all new contracts will be entered under the Pathward name.  Existing contracts under the MetaBank name and its subsidiaries including Crestmark and AFS/IBEX remain fully binding with no action required.

Let’s answer your questions about our new name

Why did MetaBank change its name?

To unite the company under a single identity following a series of strategic acquisitions, MetaBank initiated a brand strategy review last year. The new name, Pathward, is born out of the company’s purpose “to power financial inclusion for all®” and its commitment to providing a path forward to people and businesses so they can reach the next stage of their financial journey.

When will the new name take effect?

The company will make certain changes immediately and fully transition to Pathward by the end of this calendar year, including the launch of a new brand identity and website. The company will continue to serve its customers under existing brand names during the transition.

I am a customer who has an account with MetaBank and/or Crestmark or AFS/IBEX, both divisions of MetaBank. How does this name change affect me?

While the name, website and look of certain materials will change during the transition, you should not expect any changes to your account or the level of service that we provide throughout this process.

I’m a cardholder and MetaBank appears on my card. How does this name change affect me?

Current Meta-issued cards will remain active after the name changes until their expiration date, just as if no change had occurred. You do not need to deplete your balance or get a new card due to this change. If there is any future update to that process, it will be clearly communicated to customers in a timely fashion.

I’m a partner and have an existing business relationship with MetaBank and/or Crestmark or AFS/IBEX, both divisions of MetaBank. How does this name change affect me?

Contracts will still be fully binding, and we will continue to provide timely communications and guidance regarding any updates that may impact business. Please reach out to your MetaBank point of contact with any questions or for further support.
