METABANK COMMUNITY BANK CUSTOMERS

Will the MetaBank branches remain open for business?

Yes. The nine MetaBank branch locations across eastern South Dakota and Iowa will still be open, now as Central Bank braches. The good news is that the bankers that are still associated with these branches, and MetaBank community bank customers will be able to continue to work with their representatives.

As a current MetaBank community bank customer, will my checking account change?

No. Your account number and account benefits will remain the same. In the next couple of months, we’ll integrate your account into Central Bank’s system. Until then, you can use your MetaBank checks, debit cards, online banking and all other services as usual. Expanded details and updates will be communicated in the upcoming weeks.

Can I still access my accounts online at metabank.com?

Yes. Continue to log into your accounts as usual at metabank.com. Once your account is integrated into Central Bank’s system, you’ll access your accounts at centralbankonline.com using your current username and password.

Can I continue to use Mobile Banking?

Yes. Your MetaBank Mobile Banking app will remain the same. After your account is integrated into Central Bank’s system you’ll need to download Central Bank’s Mobile Banking app and log in using your current username and password.

Can I still use my MetaBank debit card?

Yes. You may continue to use your existing MetaBank debit card as usual. In the weeks following the conversion, we will reissue you a Central Bank debit card to replace your MetaBank card.

Will my loan change?

No. Your account number along with the terms of your loan will remain the same and you can continue to make loan payments as you have in the past.

Will MetaBank change its name?

No, the MetaBank name and logo stays as a part of the organization. We continue as a regulated bank providing financial services to several segments: payments, commercial finance, consumer lending and tax services.

Why did MetaBank sell their community bank branches?

Meta Financial Group, the holding company for MetaBank, made the business decision to divest their community bank division to focus on our core business of payments, commercial finance and tax divisions. The sale allows us to focus on improving yields from our national lending platforms, growing deposits in our payments division and improving efficiencies by streamlining operations while serving key markets often overlooked by traditional banks like unbanked and underbanked customers.

Will MetaBank continue to issue prepaid cards?

Yes. MetaBank, through their Meta Payment Systems division, will continue to offer prepaid cards such as gift, reloadable, travel and incentive card programs through sponsorship. We pride ourselves on being one of the top prepaid issuers and non-bank ATMs in the U.S.
